W2DU Choke Baluns owe their extremely
high power capability to the fact that they contain no ferrite cores to
saturate. Even at high SWR levels, the W2DU baluns won't generate harmonic
radiation. The internal feedline passes through ferrite beads which prevent RF
current from flowing on the coax shield. This 50 ohm 1:1 Balun models covers HF
from 1.8-30 MHz. At 10 MHz, the HF model handles over 10 KW PEP at VSWRs up to
2:1. The W2DU balun has a built-in lightning arrestor, center hang up hook, and
600 lbs of pull-apart strength in a weatherized, rugged package with stainless
steel hardware. The W2DU is 13" long by 1.5" diameter and weighs only 9 oz. An
SO-239 UHF connector which accepts a standard PL-259 is mounted on the Balun
bottom. Coaxial W2DU Line-Isolator versions are also
available for use in-line with coax cables which is ideal for verticals and use
with existing beams & quads. |
