New Improved Solid State Design works with older amplifiers

This new design allows older Linear Amplifiers (SB200, SB220 and others) to be used with newer transceivers by providing a “Soft Keying Circuit.” Most of the newer transceivers have a low voltage/low current T/R relay which cannot safely ground the older amplifiers high voltage, high current changeover relays without damage to the rig's keying relay.

This improved keying relay design has back-to-back High Current FET’s with a switching capability of 2.5 amperes at a maximum of 500v. This switch will also key amplifiers with either + or – voltages. The design is fast enough for QSK compatible units.

Hook-up is very simple. Only 12vdc must be furnished to power the Keying circuit and then connect the interface between the Transceivers T/R or send line and the linear amplifiers keying input. The low cost and simplicity make it an ideal way to key your amplifier while providing complete safety and protection for your state-of-the-art transceiver.
